CANNING INFO

Preserving your own fresh food is just about as good as it gets, however, it is imperative that you spend some time getting familiar with all the "how too's" before you get started.  I have provided some links (shown below) to get you on the right track and there are some really good books on preserving food that you might want to pick up at a used book store.  Most of these books have good recipes to get started with.  Some of the best recipes are from your own family and those are ones that you may have grown up eating, so you know they are good.
You can buy canning jars at most grocery stores and hardware stores but if you keep your eyes peeled you can find good deals at garage sales.  We just bought 17 dozen at a garage sale for $40.00.
Be sure to read the article below on how to choose the right canning jars so you do it safely.
